Who to Call and Write
The Senate and Assembly Natural Resource committee will hold a joint hearing on the CWD rules on May 14 at 10:00 am in Room 411 South at the state capitol. This includes the baiting and feeding rules. This is the last hurdle we have to get these rules passed into law.
Both the Senate and Assembly Natural Resource committees are under intense pressure to compromise on baiting and feeding. The group VOW is supporting the 2 gallon compromise for a reason, because they know it will have no effect, and things will return to the way they were 2 years ago.
The following are the people to write and call by the May 14th hearing. I would both write and call if you have the time. The Senate committee is the most critical, with Senator Kedzie holding all the cards right now. It is up to him whether or not the committee will even vote. Get everyone you know to write and call him! The Assembly is less critical because we have the support of Chairman Johnsrud, but it's still very important to contact them too. If you live in any of these guys district, be sure to give them an earful. Otherwise all the are counting is whether you are for or against. It would be very useful to attend and speak at the hearing if you can too. Just show up and fill out a form to speak.
